Inauguration

 As a high schooler I spent my senior year in then West Germany. I had an American flag camera strap but felt conflicted about Reagan and Bush. I learned a lot about fascism and Nazis and the relationship between Germany and Poland in modern Europe. I even got to travel to Poland under Russian rule with my host family who had immigrated from the Soviet state. 

While I was living in Germany, I met people from the Middle East, Africa and Asia. One thing united all of them: home. 

Ultimately, I flew home with my friends. We exchanged letters as we headed to college and found new lives in the United States. We sometimes blamed our government and sometimes we focused on Europe as the wall came down. Some of us traveled back. I don't think any of us became Republicans. (I haven't vetted this) But I have my doubts. 

In college I studied Middle Eastern history and German.  I did well but could never fit America. History into my job ( I worked in a hospital) and school lives. A few years later after the death of my sister I went to law school. It was there I learned about America 

I lived through Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and Barak Obama, I then voted for Hillary Clinton and campaigned and voted for Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris. When Thump won in 2024, I knew Russia was involved. 

The Fourteenth Amendment prohibits anyone charged with insurrection, treason or other select crimes from running for office. Article 1 prohibits a non national born citizen from becoming or running for president. Elon Musk is a naturalized citizen born in South Africa.

Constitutional travesty

The Founders understood that monarchy too often developed a problem with people expressing themselves whether through religion, political view, land holding or other wealth. They also liked holding on to wealth in the "public interest." That might be where anti historical and indeed fascist influences reach American politics today.  Certain Trump is ignorant of history and hopelessly ignorant of both foreign relations and interior politics and structure. By this I means he has no idea of the division of powers or that he theoretically is Article One and that he's violating the 14th and 25th Amendments.    Whether he cares or not is another question. If he does he's doing a great job perturbing the bulk of our allies and ignoring America's rich history in so many areas.
